H2ERǴ

Karoline Healy is a Jewellery Designer/Maker and Materials Researcher based in London, England. Healy started her jewellery brand H2ERǴ in 2018, it is a representation of her work’s core values: innovation and sustainability. The ambition for H2ERǴ is to become a research-based jewellery studio investigating the ecological, geological and biological drivers that shape jewellery and materiality today and into the future.

Through her work Healy aims to examine and showcase a deeper understanding of the source of precious materials and the processes used to make jewellery, using a creative and relevant context to do this. By proposing ecologically transformative interventions through research and jewellery, she envisions future scenarios where biology can be used to provide a new source of precious metals through bioremediation and biomining.

Healy’s ‘Natural Basics’ collection explores this future, where synthetic biology technologies will be used to grow metals and other materials to help sustain life on our planet. In addition to this collection, Healy continues her appreciation of materials by making ‘ReWorked’ pieces which utilise vintage and deadstock materials to upcycle and reimagine jewellery.
