Ruochong Cheng

Ruochong Cheng is a Chinese designer with a background in fashion. His practice centres on creating jewellery that invites people into imagined, poetic worlds, offering a temporary escape from the pressures of everyday life. Inspired by the ancient Chinese hermit poets of Zhongnan Mountain, Cheng reflects on the contrast between material deprivation and rich inner landscapes. Like the hermits who found freedom in simplicity, his work explores the power of the human spirit and the vastness of the inner world, even within constrained physical spaces.
