Interview with Amanda Pinatih

Amanda Pinatih, Design Curator at Stedelijk Amsterdam since 2020, is challenging the idea of what a museum can be. An art historian, curator and PhD candidate at University of Amsterdam, she co-founded the award winning Design Museum Dharavi, a nomadic exhibition space outside Mumbai which co-designs new work with the rich local maker population of Dharavi, to be enjoyed interactively with the people of the area.

Now at Stedelijk she pursues a polyphonic approach to decolonizing the collections there, recontextualizing jewellery and objects from the collection alongside new work in the field of design, revealing historically untold stories through the lens of today.
